I remember attending a workshop where the speaker spoke about the concept that you are your brand. Everything the speaker stated I had been doing for years as I had developed and an idea that I call Living Life Out Loud. The idea of Living Life Out Loud is easy as it means having a plan to deliver a consistent message that will resonate with the target audience that you want to reach. Each day you wake up you should have a plan that will strengthen your brand and increase your revenue. This also goes for the times that you are doing charitable fundraising. I recently invested in a table top banner to help promote my work with Relay For Life and you will notice that my brand is also represented on the banner.
When I go out to promote Relay For Life I make sure I wear a name badge and along with apparel that shares the message of The American Cancer Society Relay For Life. In doing this I build credibility with those that I am approaching. On many occasions by living out loud has lead to me picking up emcee gigs and public address announcing gigs simply because I began to engage people. I even went as far as having custom made sneakers that say BEAT CANCER on them to show my passion for the cause of raising funds for research, education, advocacy, and services. It is when you live out loud and commit to growing personally, professionally, and spiritually that your life is enhanced. Making sure you let people know who you are and what you do and why they should use your services or support your cause leads to success. In living life out loud and not being afraid of what others may think I have been able to do some great things in my life like serving as a U.S. Peace Corps Volunteer in The Philippines, meeting general Colin Powell, announcing Pop Warner Championship Football Games, and Emceeing events like World Fest. It all comes down to Living Life Out Loud.
You have a decision to make. You can be a action taker and live your life out loud or become an excuse maker and stay right where you are.
