A plethora of hot topics in social culture creates argument upon arguments between anyone and everyone. One side believes their opinion is the correct one, the other side believes the opposite. Somewhere in our upbringings, the lines were crossed and meanings got blurred, and in order to regain safety we started processing our world entirely in black and white. This black and white filter over our consciousness dampens creativity and is what keeps the world constantly cycling in the same pattern of hatred and fear as it always has, and this B&W lens ultimately prohibits growth. The world, society, and cultures depend on growth, though, because as a loved one in my life always reminds me, "when you stop growing, that is when you die."
The problem is that nothing in our realm will ever exist purely in black and white. Categorizing the world in black and white creates a sense of ease because the outcome is always expected, anticipated. There is always an answer and a safety net to fall back on when a situation occurs. What happens, though, when you are faced with a situation that does not fit inside the prescribed chart? That is when you learn to live outside the lines, when your world becomes colorful. When you begin to understand that politics, religion, relationships, and a whole host of other concerns do not have clear definite answers is when the things around you blur for a bit, but then shift back into focus revealing an awesome and shockingly colorful space surrounding you. To view the things around you as a kaleidoscopic wonderland involves a sense of bravery and a strong identity, because when you breach the "norm," you tend to find yourself all alone. You realize that amongst the masses you stand solitary, taking in the realization that everything around you is chaotic and beautiful. In here, in this position, you find the true meaning of life. You discover that despite never having concrete answers to problems you don't truly need solutions. You find that you adapt quickly and easily to situations as they arise and handle everything with grace and compassion towards every living being rather than just plugging in your "answers," and calling it a day.
When your world becomes bright and colorful, in turn, so do you. You will function from a place filled with better love, understanding, humility, and creativeness. So live life outside of the monochromatic tones. Embrace the uncertainty and colors awaiting you, because you'll never know what you might find beyond the walls of normalcy.
