Life can be overwhelming sometimes, so it makes sense that it can be hard to remember the simplest things that can help everything be leveled out. Well, fret no longer, here are little things to remember that we should all do to not only take care of ourselves, but one another.
1. Don’t compare your achievements and your journey to those surrounding you. This one may be a little difficult to do at times due to all the amazing things that can be accomplished by everyone around us. However, don’t let them someone you know discovering something kill your shine. Stay positive and keep an open mind ... anything is possible if you just believe!
2. Judgments reflect on you as a person. The beauty of being human is that we were all born to be unique and carry out different things throughout our life. It’s important to remember that we weren’t born to be the same, and the individuality that shines through us is what makes us most beautiful. If you judge someone for being different and being proud and flaunting their differences, it just shows that you’re insecure in yourself. Let every other caterpillar blossom into the beautiful butterfly they were meant to become.
3. Everything gets better in time. I know that your latest breakup or that awful haircut you got seems like the end of the world currently, but it’ll all get better in time. No one ever promised that life would be easy, and heartache is a thing that everyone will have to come in contact with multiple times in one life, but it’s always important to remember: nothing lasts forever. I’m not saying give it a day and you’ll be healed, because some things may hurt for awhile. But as every day passes, you’ll feel the pain less and less, and then one day you’ll wake up and realize you haven’t even thought of what caused in the pain. Stay strong and carry on.
4. There’s always a chance to make the rainiest days to have a beautiful rainbow. As mentioned above, some things hurt like hell and there’s no getting around them. However, with the right support system and the right state of mind, anything is possible. In trying times, lean on those close to help you that have always helped you get back up. Along with this, carry positive vibes within you at all times. When the skies are heavy and gloomy over your head one day, go out and make that rain go away and bring about the most glorious sunshine and vivid rainbow that’s ever been seen. You’re in control of some sort of everything that you’re dealt, it’s how you handle it that is fully in your control.
5. Don’t focus on what can’t be changed. This is a killer. The past is the past and nothing can be changed about that. That was then, this is now. Instead of living in a head full of “what could’ve been” or “I should’ve done that instead” live in the current. Make crazy plans with your friends. Face your fears. Go live your life to the fullest. Make sure your loved ones know you love them, and don’t take one second for granted. Start making goals for your future and watch them flourish and grow.
Enjoy your beautiful lives, and from the wise words of Tim McGraw, “Hold the door, say please, say thank you/Don't steal, don't cheat, and don't lie/I know you got mountains to climb but/Always stay humble and kind/When those dreams you're dreamin' come to you/ When the work you put in is realized/Let yourself feel the pride but/Always stay humble and kind.”
