We all have our bad days. As college students there is such a struggle to plan for our future, be involved on our campus, and have the time to keep our grades high. Too often we get swept up in the hustle and bustle of our busy schedules and we do not take the time to stop and enjoy the little things.

I am a worrier. I tend to stress myself out more than I practice self-encouragement. I tend to think about everything I have on my plate and ponder on that first instead of just taking a deep breath. Being a full-time student in college is a job, especially with the added extra curricula. I have to remind myself most days that I am going to be fine, and that this is a beautifully taxing stage of life. This is the time in my life when I am preparing and soaking up knowledge that will one day fuel my career just like every other college student, however, this does not mean that at times it does not get challenging.

I know that everyone goes through times that life just does not seem to be on their side. I know how much it means to me when, I am having a rough day, and someone goes out of their way to say a few kind words to me or lifts my spirits with encouragement. It is like a breath of fresh air and it can completely change my mindset.

Everyone wants to feel like they matter and to be accepted. I want to encourage readers to be a little more observant of the individuals around them and take note of the ones who seem down. It does not have to be much, just a simple compliment or even a note can really brighten someone's day. So I encourage you to make more time for the little things and see how you too could shine a light on someones perhaps cloudy day.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
