The Little Things

This is what a real friendship consists of.

We Heart It

When I was younger, I use to think friendship was sleepovers and play dates. That it was whoever's house was hosting the best birthday parties or the girl who let you borrow her new Justin Bieber CD. That friendship was a phase or a connivence. Now I know it is so much more beyond letting someone borrow your crayons in class or saving them a spot in line at lunch time.

Friendship is three in the morning talks about what happened the day before and why the hell you're still awake.

Friendship is three in the afternoon laughing so hard you're on the floor at a corny joke for the third time that day.

Friendship is being able to talk nonsense and have that nonsense be completely respected.

Friendship is when your car is in the shop and they offer to drive you around.

Friendship is when you've had your heart broken and they let you sleep at their place until you feel whole again.

Friendship is spitting that large pizza you both don't need.

Friendship is when you look at each other and know exactly what each other are thinking.

Friendship is knowing that your closet is now open publicly to your friends and vice versa.

Friendship is running boring errands together so you don't have to do them alone.

Friendship is them knowing that you don't like pickles on your sandwich.

Friendship is rooting you on when you can't even root for yourself.

Friendship is sitting there eating in silence because you would rather eat than talk (and they would too).

Friendship is holding them accountable for their mistakes and helping them learn from the past.

Friendship is a shoulder to cry on when a Monday gets the best of you.

Friendship is being your date to any event or function you get a plus one to.

Friendship is trusting whole-heartedly that the other person has your best interest at heart.

Friendship is binge watching shows during rainy days.

Friendship is a call over a break to let them know every detail of their life you have missed.

Friendship has no limit.

Friendship has no timeline.

Friendship does not know distance.

Friendship is convincing creepy guys that you are in a relationship with each other to get them to leave you alone.

Friendship is never judging you from a decision you realize wasn't the best idea.

Friendship is the first person you call to tell good news.

Friendship is the first person you call to tell bad news.

Friendship is calling each other's parents "mom and dad".

Friendship is love in the strangest ways when all else is lost.

"Friendship isn't a big thing. It's a million little things." -- Unknown

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
