Growing up, my sister and I would fight constantly. We would yell, beat each other up, and always make the other one cry. My mom always used to tell us, "your sister will be your best friend one day," and I could never believe it. How could someone so annoying become my friend? Well, fast forward 10 years and of course, my mom was right. My sister is definitely one of my best friends and I wouldn't have it any other way. Come to think of it, she makes the best kind of friend.
She knows every single thing about you.
My sister has known me since the day she was her born. I was her first friend and I am a permanent one. We grew up together, therefore she knows every little detail about me. She knows my favorite foods, movies, TV shows, clothing stores, and everything in between. My sister can hold my most embarrassing childhood moments against me, but hey, I can hold hers against her too.
She has lived through everything with you.
My sister has been with me through it all; the good, the bad and the ugly. She was there when my grandpa died and when my grandma was diagnosed with breast cancer. She was there when my parents surprised us with a trip to Disney World and when I got sinus surgery and sounded like a duck. My sister has had so many of the same life experiences as me that she is easily the most relatable person that I know.
She is a solid shoulder to cry on.
When I have a bad day, I know I can FaceTime my sister and she'll be there to listen to me sob without saying a single word. She won't ask what's wrong, she just lets me get it out. A sister understands that sometimes, all you need is someone there for you not to ask what's wrong.
She lets you borrow (steal) her clothes without getting too mad.
In middle school, my sister and I would attempt to kill each other if we found our favorite shirt in the other's closet. We have since then learned that by sharing clothes, we double our closet at half the price. Come to think of it, half of my closet in Omaha (9 hours from her college) probably belongs to my sister.
She's a great role model.
My sister inspires me every single day. She is outgoing, loving, and fun. She is the most caring person I have ever met and I wish I could be more like her. My sister has always been the more personable child and I envy her quality. She has the ability to befriend and talk to anyone while I'm more on the shy side. She inspires me to do better and always has faith in me.My sister is one of the coolest people I know for the sole reason that were related. Just kidding, but she is awesome because of who she is and who she inspires me to be.
She just gets you.
My sister just gets me. She is genuinely interested in my life and understands all of my little quirks and I understand hers. There is no other person I would rather spend the rest of my life connected to than my baby sister.
