Believe it or not, your life is made up from a bunch of little moments. Sure some of these little may seems a little bit bigger than the others, but all in all your life is a combination of little memories and decisions that impact who you are as an individual. As cliche as it sounds, the little moments are the ones that will matter the most in the end. Graduating, getting your license, and falling in love for the first time are huge moments in your life. But, in order to get to those huge moments you had a million other small ones along the way.
Before you graduated you failed a few test, maybe even aced some. You went out and drove around the town with your friends to nowhere in particular until all ends of the night, you showed up home later than expected, you slept in more often than not. All of those little moments brought you to this very moment. Who you are now, the very person reading this currently, is a product of every single little moment no matter how insignificant those moment may seem.
You may hear a certain song that takes you back to a particular place and time and you have no idea why. That memory may seem faded and you may not understand why that song made you think about such a stupid point in time where nothing momentous happened, but obviously it holds some significance.
The society we live in today, has lead us to be so focused on the big picture. Everything we say or do needs to become huge and memorable. We are entirely focused on making great memories that we are hindering the opportunity to make the most out of an ordinary situation. Sometimes we need to just let go and allow ourselves to live in the moment and soak up all we can. By doing this we can really let these little moments come into play.
The more little moments we cherish the better our "big" moments will become because we will have the fond memories of a late night campfire with friends, or a jam session on the ukulele. The possibilities are truly endless. Rather than making life big and glamorous we should we should live humbly and seek to better ourselves and the world around us. There is a quote that goes "Life isn't about the breaths you take, its about the moments that take your breath away" and it is truly and understatement. It seems to be the little moments that tend to captivate and leave individuals breathless.
Whether it be watching a beautiful sunrise, sharing a morning cup of coffee with the one you love, or mid-afternoon snuggles with your pet. It is truly life's little moments that make it so big.
