20 Shows You Have To See Immediately

Back to when the actors could actually act, not everybody could sing their own theme song, and when cartoons didn't need to teach you a lesson.

So, as opposed to the bluntness and level of frustration in my last article, I decided I would take the seriousness back to my comical humor, and give you all a list of shows you must see once you are done reading this article. Now I know some of these shows might be a tad older for you young'uns out there, but bear with me. These are the shows the 90's kids grew up on, and they are significantly better than the ones that are currently being aired. Some of them have lessons you might learn by the end of an episode, and some are just plain hilarious. Either way, get yourself a Netflix account or to the nearest Family Video, and find these shows. (They are listed in no particular order.)

1. The Angry Beavers

Norm and Daggett are the main characters in this show. Oh, and they're beavers! Follow them in their zany adventures, as they may also don their superhero alter-egos.

2. Rocko's Modern Life

Rocko is a wallaby who moved from Australia (obviously) to America. Join him as you also meet his friends which include a steer, (Heffer) and a turtle (Filbert). Those two are pictured below, but you end up meeting so many other characters throughout Rocko's misadventures.

3. Rocket Power

Four friends and their daily lives of playing extreme sports, surfing, and getting into some crazy situations.

4. Rugrats (when they were babies)

Rugrats is a show about 4 babies, Tommy Pickles, Chuckie Finster, and Phil and Lil Deville. As we see their lives unravel, we get to hear them talk. On the sidelines are Tommy's mean cousin Angelica, their friend Susie Carmichael (same age as Angelica), and everybody's parents.

5. Aaahh!!! Real Monsters

The show takes us through the struggles of life as a child monster. 3 monster friends are studying how to scare humans in school. Often their attempts don't work out as planned.

6. Ren And Stimpy

The gross misadventures of a hyper chihuahua and a stupid cat.

7. Johnny Bravo

The misadventures of a dumb blond egomaniac who is deluded about his own manliness. "Damn, I'm pretty!"

8. Ed, Edd, N Eddy

The off-the-wall, day-to-day life of three friends who have exactly the same name.

9. Foster's Home For Imaginary Friends

A boy and his beloved imaginary friend are able to stay together at an orphanage of sorts for imaginary friends that children have outgrown to be adopted by new children.

10. Dexter's Laboratory

The misadventures of a boy genius and his annoying sister.

11. Teen Titans (the older series)

A team of five teenage superheroes save the world from many villains around their city while experiencing things normal teens face today.

12. Codename: Kids Next Door

The adventures of a group of ten-year-old friends who fight for the right to do everything that adults restrict from them.

13. The Suite Life of Zack and Cody

Comedy about identical twins living at the Tipton Hotel with their single mother who is a lounge singer at the hotel.

14. Drake And Josh

Two teens become step brothers. One is an awkward geek and the other is a popular musician.

15. Ned's Declassified School Survival Guide

Ned Bigby shares his advice on how to survive middle school.

16. Regular Show

The daily surreal adventures of a blue jay and raccoon duo that attempt to deal with their mundane jobs as groundskeepers at the local park.

17. Courage The Cowardly Dog

The offbeat adventures of Courage, a cowardly dog who must overcome his own fears to heroically defend his unknowing farmer owners from all kinds of dangers, paranormal events and menaces that appear around their land.

18. All That

A combination sketch comedy/musical performance show in the tradition of "Saturday Night Live," this program starred a teenage cast and was targeted at younger viewers. The show featured a number of repeating characters, including Baggin' Saggin' Barry, Super Dude, and the misfit fast food employees of Good Burger, which spawned a movie of the same name.

19. The Amanda Show

The Amanda Show is another series that was spun off of "All That" for another of its breakout stars. It's a skit show with some of the characteristics of "All That" but with different characters. On this show there are characters such as Judge Trudy, a rip off of Judge Judy; Penelope Taynt, Amanda's #1 Fan (who is played by her); and others such as The Liberals.

20. Kenan And Kel

The comic misadventures of teenagers Kenan and his dimwitted buddy Kel.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.
