A List Of Things To Thank My Grandparents For

1. Thank you for taking my sister and I into your home, without that, I don't know where we would be. You took us in, not knowing what to expect from us, even with all the things we were going through you still stood by us.

2. Thank you for dealing with my attitude, I know some days weren't as good as others but you still loved me with arms wide open.

3. Thank you for all of the money you have given me, I can't even begin to add up everything, from the times you have given me money to go out with my friends, to just giving me a little extra cash.

4.Grandma, thank you for doing loads and loads of my laundry. Now that I'm in college, I realize how hard you worked to keep up on the simple things, such as laundry. I hope to be as good as you someday.

5. Thank you for teaching me most of my manners. When I came to live with you I didn't even use a knife. Not saying I use one all of the time, but of course I do in front of you both. (especially grandpa)

6. Thank you for my first car, it took away all my worries I would have to deal with in figuring out how to get to and from school. But let's be honest, you actually only bought it because you just wanted to make sure I would still come home to see you both.

7. Thank you for creating so many family traditions, I really cherish these moments, from the holidays to just simply going shopping every year together. You guys really know how to make it special.

8. Thank you for being my biggest support system, I have been supported by both of you from day one. You pushed me hard to get good grades in school, and you then watched me walk across the stage to get my diploma, and then to go on to my first year of college. But most importantly, you both have supported me through life, 100% of the time.

9. Thank you for dealing with all of my crazy friends, you both have worked at the same school with them which meant you knew them well. You allowed them all to come over to your house and I'm not quite sure how you did it, some days they were even just too much for me to handle.

10. Thank you for never giving up. I don't know how you both do it, but you never let us see you down in the dumps. You both always stay stronger than I could ever imagine myself doing.

As life goes on I hope to have your support for the rest of your lives. I hope you continue to live life to the fullest, even if it's not being able to live in a house in the middle of nowhere. Thank you for never doubting my abilities to achieve what I want in life, I hope you both know how much I am thankful for. There are so many things that aren't even on this list. I love you both so much, more than words could ever explain, to the moon and back. Thank you grandma and grandpa, you truly deserve the world.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
