Tomi Lahren is most commonly known for her segment Final Thoughts. Every day she posts a short, less than five-minute video stating her “final thoughts” on one of the biggest topics in the news that day. From Brock Allen Turner to Alton Sterling and everything before, after and in between Tomi has stated her thoughts about it.
I think she voices her opinion in a way that is manageable for young and old people to hear and view. I'll be honest, I hate those long, drawn-out videos where people talk about current events and their opinion on the situations. To me, it just becomes boring after a certain point. Tomi’s short videos clearly state her feelings without having them be drawn out and uninteresting.
Recently, I've seen tons of people bashing her on Facebook. Saying how they hate her and she's ridiculous. I even saw a comment where someone said they would punch her in the face if they ever saw her in person. All I could say to all their negativity is, “Why?” Why do you hate her? Why do you think she's ridiculous? Why do you want to punch her in the face? Is it because she states her opinion, because she isn't afraid to say what others might not want to, or because she's honest?
Those three things are some of the most valid reasons why I am a fan. I like her honesty. I like that she clearly states her opinion. I like that she says what she feels and what she wants to say. I have Facebook friends who endlessly post their opinions of current events and presidential candidates. But I don't see people writing hateful posts about them saying how ridiculous they are and how they want them to punch them in the face.
So my question now is, what makes Tomi any different? Is it different because she has a following? Is it different because she's in more of a spotlight? Is it different because she's presented in a more professional way than people on Facebook are? Honestly, I feel like that should make her less of a target for hate.
Honestly, at the end of the day, I don't care that some people can't see the effects Tomi's Final Thoughts have. I appreciate her content and the messages she puts out. I appreciate the way she presents herself. I appreciate her opinion. Just because some people don't, won't change my mind. Just like everything else in the world.
For those people who hate Tomi Lahren, think she's ridiculous, and want to punch her in the face, keep doing you. I’ll keep making her Final Thoughts show up on your timeline. I'll keep supporting her messages and her opinion. I'm not ashamed to be on #TeamTomi.
