Some people say that country music is all the same. It's just about parties, drinking, love and heartbreak. Well, I grew up with country music, and yes there are many songs about the topics above, but there are so many other songs out there about life. I really do believe that valuable lessons can be learned if you really listen to the lyrics of these songs. These are some lessons that I've learned from songs I grew up with and songs that are out now:

1. Life is too short. Go the extra mile and live everyday like it's your last

Songs: Don't Blink - Kenny Chesney, Live Like You Were Dying - Tim McGraw

2. Don't cheat especially on a girl that listens to country music. She may get some ideas

Songs: Before He Cheats - Carrie Underwood, Who's Cheating Who - Alan Jackson, Homewrecker - Gretchen Wilson

3. Everyone has or will experience loss in their life and grieve differently. Whether it's tearing up a field, sitting on a dock or remembering the past during big occasions we all deal with it our own way.

Songs: You Should Be Here - Cole Swindle, Drink a Beer - Luke Bryan, I Drive Your Truck - Lee Brice

4. Sometimes you just need a drink

Songs: Drink In My Hand - Eric Church, Five O'Clock Somewhere

5. Your home will always be a part of you and you're always welcome back

Songs: House That Built Me - Miranda Lambert, Who Say's You Can't Go Home - Jennifer Nettles and Bon Jovi

6. Love is out there

Songs: Head Over Boots For You - Jon Pardi, My Best Friend - Tim McGraw, 'Til My Last Day - Justin Moore

7. Everything's better at the beach

Songs: Beachin' - Jake Owen, Some Beach - Toby Keith, Margaritaville- Jimmy Buffett

8. One song can bring you back in time

Songs: Springsteen - Eric Church, I Go Back - Kenny Chesney

9. Be thankful for the little things; they usually become the big things

Songs: It Won't Be Like This For Long - Darius Rucker, Chicken Fried - Zac Brown Band,

10. Have faith and believe in your dreams

Songs: Even If It Breaks Your Heart - Eli Young Band, My Wish - Rascal Flatts, Jesus Take The Wheel - Carrie Underwood

11. Your church can be anywhere

Songs: Saltwater Gospel - Eli Young Band, My Church - Maren Morris

12. You'll always be Daddy's little girl

Songs: Cleaning This Gun - Rodney Adkins, Stealing Cinderella - Chuck Wicks, Tough Little Boys - Gary Allen

13. And guys don't worry they love you just the same

Songs: Watchin' You- Rodney Adkins, Anything Like Me - Brad Paisley, I See Me - Travis Tritt

14. We all get our hearts broken at some point

Songs: Any Ol' Barstool - Jason Aldean, Every Storm - Gary Allen, Brokenheartsville - Joe Nicols

15. In the words of Tim McGraw "Always stay humble and kind"

Song: Humble and Kind - Tim McGraw

16. Always remember those who protect our country every day

Songs: American Solider - Toby Keith, Courtesy of The Red, White, and Blue - Toby Keith, Letters From Home - John Michael Montgomery, If You're Reading This- Tim McGraw

17. And an overall message: "God is great, beer is good, and people are crazy"

Song: People Are Crazy - Billy Currington

So next time you hear a country song on the radio don't switch the station, listen to the lyrics and maybe you'll learn something.

Creating your schedule for the upcoming semester can be an exciting process. You have the control to decide if you want to have class two-days a week or five-days a week. You get to check things off of your requirement checklist. It's an opportunity for a fresh start with new classes (which you tell yourself you'll never skip.) This process, which always starts out so optimistic, can get frustrating really quickly. Here are 25 thoughts you have when registering for classes.

10 Thoughts Of A 5th Year Senior

What about those of us who don't do it all in four years?

"College will be the best four years of your life" is a phrase that we have all heard growing up. College is painted as a magical place to us while we are in high school. A place you go to learn, meet your best friends and probably have the time of your life while all of this is going down. Four whirlwind years, where everything that you've known changes and you start to learn what it means to live on your own, have a job, etc. But what about those of us who don't do this all in four years? Major changes, hard courses, switching schools, career paths changing, these are just a handful of factors that could extend your four years to five, six or seven. There is nothing wrong with taking extra time to graduate, but returning as a fifth-year is a little different. Most of your best friends have most likely graduated and moved and while you may be one of the oldest undergraduates on campus, you might feel as awkward as a freshmen. A world that became home and comfortable to you is still there but it's slightly different than you've known it to be and you have to find a groove to fall into. These are thoughts you'll have as you look ahead to returning to your college campus, with a victory lap planned.

11 Times Aubrey Plaza Described Sophomore Year

"I don't want to do things. I want to do not things."

Aubrey Plaza is one of my favorite humans in Hollywood. She's honest, blunt, unapologetic, and hilarious. I just started my sophomore year of college, and found that some of her best moments can accurately describe the start of the school year.

1. When your advisor tells you that you should declare a major soon.

2. Seeing the lost and confused freshmen and remembering that was you a short year ago, and now being grateful you know the ins and outs of the campus.

3. Going to the involvement fair to sign up for more clubs knowing that you are already too involved.

4. When you actually do the reading required for the first class.

5. Seeing your friends for the first time since last semester.

6. When you're already drowning in homework during syllabus week.

7. Realizing you don't have the same excitement for classes as you did as a freshman.

8. Going home and seeing people from high school gets weirder the older you get.
