Life Lessons Learned From "Winnie The Pooh"
Daily Mail

Many generations have grown up with the fun stories of "Winnie the Pooh" in their lives, and maybe some of you, like myself, still enjoy the fluffy stuffed bear on hard days and just can’t seem to pull yourself away. Though "Winnie the Pooh" is very simple and light, it has some important life lessons that can be used throughout our lives, even as adults.

Embracing the differences of others as well as your own.

For those of you who are not aware; "Winnie the Pooh" characters have been argued to be based off of mental disorders such as Binge Eating Disorder, OCD, Anxiety Disorder, Depression, etc. Every character is very different and has their own struggles with themselves, but they still manage to get along and be there for their friends. They don’t ever try to hide their true selves, and encourage their friends to do the same.

Being confident of one’s ability and looks.

Pooh Bear is probably one of the most confident cartoon characters to this day. He is always cheerful and doesn’t get discouraged when he fails, and overall, he has a great love for himself. Not to mention that he struts the crop top look even with his plump belly sticking out, teaching us to really love ourselves, inside and out, regardless of what others may think.

Enjoying the simple things in life.

Pooh Bear and his friends are always enjoying fun activities together, such as “Pooh sticks,” which is essentially just throwing sticks in the river and watching them flow with the water. Sometimes they just plain do nothing and are completely content about it. Many of us don’t make time for the little pleasures of life because of our busy schedules, and Pooh reminds us to slow down and enjoy little things, even if it's to do nothing.

Creative problem solving in order to get what you want in life.

Pooh Bear always seems to find himself in situations that involve him needing to go to great lengths in order to get his beloved honey, even if that means climbing up trees and acting like a bee. Sometimes we find ourselves stuck in how to solve our problem or get to where we want to be in life. Pooh Bear reminds us that the answer isn’t going to be right in front of us, but rather, we have to be creative and look outside the box to get what we want in life, even if it means do something that we may find silly.

Love and friendship.

This is definitely the most important and prominent lesson we learn from Pooh and his friends. On many occasions, Pooh and the gang go on long journeys to find Christopher Robin or any of the friends that may be missing. In general, all the characters would do anything to make sure each other was happy and taken care of. Pooh is not afraid to tell his friends how much they mean to him, and that he doesn’t want to ever have to live without them — a huge lesson any person at any age can take away from.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
