"Hocus Pocus" is one of the best Halloween movies, in my opinion. It makes you laugh, cry and even sing a little bit. There are so many elements to this movie that make it great, including the songs, the plot and the cast. I've seen the movie many times, but I catch something new each time. The most important thing, however, is that this movie also teaches you life lessons. Here are just a few of them.

1. People who wear way too much eye shadow cannot be trusted.

I do not think I have ever met a sane person who wears way too much eye shadow. The worst is when they have on blue shadow; that should never have been invented.

2. Boys will be boys, especially when there is a cute girl involved.

This has been proven time and time again. Boys will do the stupidest things to get a girl's attention. If that means a virgin has to light the black flame candle, then he will do it.

3. If you do not love cats, you are wrong.

If you did not like Binx, you were crazy!

4. Little sisters are kind of cool.

Little sisters can be a pain in the butt, but in the end, you love them no matter what, and you never want anything bad to happen to them.

5. Books can be a powerful thing.

Books can bring you to a entirely different word when you read them. As said by Anna Quindlen, “Books are the plane, and the train, and the road. They are the destination, and the journey. They are home.”

6. Peeping Toms are real and they suck.

7. Having hot friends is a major plus.

8. Your parents might have a life that you do not know about. Leave it that way.

There are plenty of times in the day where I want to call my mom just to see what she is doing, but then I realize that sometimes she just wants her own space. I guess I will let her relax.

9. It always helps to be nice.

When have you ever been on someone’s bad side for being nice? Being nice gets you places and things.

10. Mornings suck and we all know it.

I am pretty sure nothing else needs to be added to that.

11. Anger management skills are important to survive.

Having these skills will help you out in life when you just need to chill. It is easy to get worked up over things.

12. Be confident!

There is nothing more beautiful that someone who is confident in themselves. Just say to yourself that you are worth it and everyone who doesn't agree doesn’t matter.

13. Family is life.

They will be there for you no matter what.

14. Sisters are always there for you.

They will be there for you through thick and thin, in sickness and in health, for better or for worse, and for anything else that you might need.

15. Sometimes it is acceptable to run amok.

Amen.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
