Amy Schumer has recently become very popular, even though, she has been in the comedy world while. She is currently starring in the movie "Trainwreck," has her own show on Comedy Central, and appears on Comedy Central Roasts. Schumer says the things that people can relate to.
1. People don't actually like makeup free.
"Girl You Don't Need Makeup" was a sketch on Amy Schumer's show, and if you haven't watched you should. It makes fun of One Direction's, "What Makes You Beautiful" by having a boy band sing to a girl, telling her she doesn't need her makeup. Once she removes it, the boy band tells her to put it back on, and she doesn't actually look good without it. Schumer took the comedic approach towards women and makeup, showing that people don't actually don't like you unless you're wearing makeup.
2. Rape Is bad, even if you're an athlete.
"Football Town Nights" is a sketch that came about after a string of athletes were accused and/or found guilty of rape. Schumer created a parody of the TV show "Friday Night Lights" by having a coach come to a football town and make the main rule be no raping. Throughout the sketch, the football players and the town don't understand why raping is so bad. "Clear Eyes. Full Hearts. No Raping."
2. People do not know how to accept a compliment.
In her skit "Compliments," Schumer shows how people can't accept compliments. Rather than just saying thank you, people generally will say something negative about themselves to reassure themselves rather than just saying thank you. When one girl does just say thank you, everyone starts to freak out and do crazy things.
3. Helping your mom with the computer is a life challenge — sorry, Mom.
This skit, "Mom Computer Therapy," has Amy in therapy and her therapist helps her help her mother use a computer to send an email. The mom struggles to even turn the computer on even when she knows how to. Not gonna lie this is the ultimate mom struggle.
4. Making food after going out is a struggle.
After going out, food is a priority. When no one has money to order food, cooking occurs. Some people go for whatever they see in the fridge but in the meantime, random things things happen like a friend going through a breakup. Schumer's skit "Sauced" is a hilarious skit modeled after the show "Master Chef."
5. The workout instructor makes the class.
Whenever you go to a work out class its either hit or miss until you find that great class. Amy has a skit called "Workout Instructor" where she is an instructor and makes everyone in the class either feel awkward or empowered. Most of the time workout instructors are trying to encourage you but end up making you think "WTF just happened."
6. There is always that one slutty friend.
There is always that one friend that is super slutty, and you're OK with it. Then she gets a boyfriend and suddenly becomes the classiest person ever and makes classy friends She acts as though those days where you sat and heard about her mistakes never happened. Amy Schumer describes it perfectly in her stand-up routine.
7. Being a girl is harder when getting ready.
For a girl to go out she had to pick out a top and bottom or maybe a dress or a romper. Then there are the shoes that have to match the outfit, and then hair has to be done perfectly. Then the makeup has to be on point, and then the jewelry has to match the outfit or accentuate it. Guys put pants on, a shirt and then shoes and walk out the door. Amy Schumer described it in her stand up skit "Same Questions."
