A very common proverbial phrase states, "When life hands you lemons, make lemonade." This phrase is not given enough credit. In translation, it basically means that when life gives you an opportunity, take it. Not enough people take risks with new opportunities. They may only come once. Sometime the risk is worth the reward. How can you know if you avoid the opportunity? Here's the answer: you don't. If have to take risks. Think of it like purchasing a stock. You buy the stock risking the chance of losing money, but you hope you gain more. The same goes for opportunities. You have to be willing to maybe lose a little, to maybe gain a lot. Here's a poem for you.
This is a poem, but it's not for me.
This is for all of you to see.
Life is a journey that we all take,
But it's based upon the decisions we make.
We all take different paths along the way.
It all depends on what we say,
What we think, and what we do.
All of this, we know is true.
But if life hands you lemons, make lemonade.
Take the opportunity I will persuade.
Opportunities may only come once.
Whatever you do, don't be a dunce.
This may be your only chance.
It may seem scary at first glance.
Take it, I dare you. Take the bet.
It may be the best thing yet.
Just don't think twice or be afraid.
Because if life hands you lemons, make lemonade.

Opportunities provide so much more than an open door. The door may be open, but will you step through it? When one door opens, another door closes. You may only have one door to the opportunity at hand. Think about Monsters Inc. Sully and Mike found Boo. But to truly return her home, they have to find her door. There are a million doors, but there's only ONE door to Boo's room. Just like each opportunity lies beyond a singular door.
"Three things in life that, once gone, never come back; time, words, and opportunities. Don't waste any of them away. They only come once." - Unknown
