There are very few days that go by when I don't find myself becoming frustrated, annoyed, or irritated because of simple little things that go wrong during the day. Someone cuts me off on the road, I spilled my coffee, or some other equally minor mishap causes me to throw in the towel and declare it a bad day. That's all that it takes. So how do such minor things that happen to go wrong outshine the many blessings and positive things that go unnoticed everyday?
We live in a society where we are always expecting life to go exactly the way we want it to. We want things to be perfect, for everything to come easy, and to never have anything not go our way. But life is not like a movie where everything is simple, and things go wrong, despite your best effort.
If we spent more time appreciating what we do have instead of focusing on the things that we don't, we would all be better off. Our generation spends so much time looking at social media pictures of other people's lives that we don't put down our phones to take a good look at our own. Not to mention that people spend far too much time trying to make their own lives look more exciting and and trying to impress people than anyone ever should.
Just because you've had a bad day, someone you know got exactly what you wanted to have, or something you worked hard for didn't work out doesn't mean you should dwell on it. Look around and see all of the things that you do currently have, and I'd be willing to bet the number of positive things that you can think of outweigh the negative.
Things are going to go wrong, it's inevitable, but if you stay positive and not let the little mishaps affect you, then you'll be much happier, grateful, and help inspire others to do the same.
