Despite the fact that the night had grown chilly enough that I needed the jacket I had left in my car, I climbed to the top of the overlook where I could see things more clearly; not only the town, but life. From up here I can see the big picture. I can see how each individual street lamp is in line perfectly with the next lighting a path for the cars and the people to follow. I can see each building strategically placed on a grid. Lastly, I can see the moon glowing above it all. The street lamp appearing small compared to the building, the building appearing small compared to the moon, but tonight I feel bigger than them all. Some of the street lamps have burned out and no longer shine, some of the buildings are corroded and barely standing, and the moon's glow is sometimes dimmed by the clouds. Although these things happen the truth still holds that this night is beautiful in every way. My life as well; although there are times when I lose some of the people who used to light my life, there are still more that shine bright. Although sometimes I am broken and barely holding on, I am still standing. And although my light is sometimes dimmed by others, the clouds will always clear. Just like this night my life may not be perfect but it is beautiful.
