To go out or to stay in?
It's college, you're expected to always be on the go; to party, hardly remember your weekends, while at the same time making everlasting memories with your friends. Some people have different ideas for the memories they would like to make. But what if big parties are not your scene? You'll quickly learn that you can not force it! If you'd almost always rather stay in, chances are you are a homebody and there is nothing wrong with that. Embrace it.
Ask yourself this...
What sounds more appealing, a cup of tea and a movie or the biggest house party of the semester? Watching the game at a bar, or from your couch? If the first choice was your answer, join the club. you are indeed a homebody. As homebodies, we love to stay in and get comfy either alone or with a few friends. Big crowds don't attract us and we'd much rather avoid them. People may call you lame or a party pooper, but that's not true. Homebodies just love simplicity! The best part about being a homebody is how relaxed we feel all the time. Stress and worry go away while we are cozied up at home. It's the absolute best feeling to be where you actually want to be, home!
Another thing I love the most about being a homebody is our productivity! Oh, the things you can get done! When you are home you have all the time in the world to work on projects, school related or not. Who doesn't love being ahead of the game on their school work? You don't have to worry about being too busy because chances are you have enough time to set aside for whatever you need to do. You didn't go out the night before so you're fully rested, and you didn't make plans with anyone because well that's not your thing. So now you have plenty of time to read that book from start to finish, or watch that movie, or even start rearranging the entire house (my mom does this a lot). You might even find that certain improvements can be made to your space. You'll be surprised how much less stressed you become when you have enough time to do just what you want to do!
Home is meant to be your sanctuary, you should always be happy here. So why not spend more time here? Perhaps with your family or some friends. Being a homebody is not a bad thing. It's actually refreshing especially after a long day or week. Although, if going out all the time is more your speed – that's fine too! Everyone deserves some fun. Just remember, we shouldn't criticize the next person for where they'd rather spend their time. You might even enjoy switching roles one day!
