I'm sure we've all heard it before: "My life flashed before my eyes."
And we probably haven't heard anyone we know say it, unless they had a near-death experience or something. I know I've been hearing this phrase since the dawn of time (okay kind of) whenever a character in a movie almost dies.
I'm willing to bet that there are people who have felt this way minus the whole almost dying thing. I know there have been months at a time where I've felt like my life just passed before me. We get caught up in routines and our lives can easily pass before us if we don't take control of it. It's easy to live each day and be okay with the little impact it had on us. What's not okay is how often this happens and how many people just "deal" with life.
It's like life is a pitcher and we're up to bat. Wouldn't we try to at least swing the bat and hit the ball to make it to first base? It wouldn't make any sense for us to just stand there and let life throw what it wants at us.
Don't continue being miserable at a job just because you're comfortable. I've learned this the hard way. It's not worth feeling angry about going to work or uncomfortable in the environment. You can find a way to make the job change. I know I did.
Don't let relationships continue if they're not adding positivity to your life. Seriously, people are not worth your time if they aren't treating you correctly. You don't owe anyone anything, but you owe yourself everything.
Don't accept your current state of life as the way it will always be. You truly have the power to make it what you want it to be.
The first step for anything will always be having enough courage to step out of your comfort zone which obviously is easier said than done. All it takes is a little effort and a whole lot of faith. There will be times where stepping out of your comfort zone leads you exactly to where you anticipated. Other times, you could be left disappointed because it didn't turn out the way you thought it would. That is okay.
You will never learn something new if you continue to stay comfortable. Taking that leap of faith in any situation will never promise a specific outcome, but at least you will learn more about yourself. You will know your strength in certain situations and get stronger each and every time.
All I'm saying is if you decide to stay where you're comfortable, where you have always been, then time will pass by. Your life will pass you by and by the time you realize it, you can't just rewind and do it over.
Tomorrow isn't promised, but you know you can control the moment you're living in. Seize the day.
