Only recently have I come to discover Audrey Hepburn and I'm not sure how I didn't find her earlier. I've grown to have a great love for Audrey as an actress and as a woman of power. She's got a lot to say, so here are just a few quotes that describe our daily lives.

“Happy girls are the prettiest girls.”

It’s true. Whenever I see someone smiling and laughing, I see the beauty shining in their eyes and face. Whenever I’m smiling and laughing, I feel much better about myself and my appearance. Plus, if you’ve got enemies around - there’s no better way to upset them than to be happy and pretty.

“Life is a party, dress like it.”

If I could have someone’s closet, I’d love to have Audrey’s. Cute skirts with cute hats all day, everyday? Yes, I would love to live that party life everyday. Never leave the house not looking like a party, you never know who you’ll meet.

“A girl can’t read that sort of thing without her lipstick.”

This has to be one of my favorite quotes of all time. Think about it, when you’re reading those texts from that one silly boy, or you’re reading gossip - there’s no way you can read that without lipstick!

“We belong to nobody and nobody belongs to us.”

Oh, bless your heart Audrey.

“Anyone who ever gave you confidence, you owe them a lot.”

I never thought about my confidence in this way until now. I heart this line. If you really think about it, so much of our confidence has to come from others in some way, so at the end of the day, you really do owe them a lot, because you are who you are right now because of them.

“It’s a mistake you always make, trying to love a wild thing.”

I mean, I’d love Audrey regardless, but I think we can all relate to this one. Sometimes we feel like we’re not good enough for that one guy who decided to fall for us.

“I’ll never let anybody put me in a cage.”

Yes Audrey! Don’t be put in a cage. Audrey is the purest example of a strong and independent woman who doesn’t need to be put in a cage.

“If I get married, I want to be very married.”

I’m that girl who has been dreaming of her dream wedding and dream husband since I can remember. So, when I do get married, I really do want to be very married.

“If I’m honest, I have to tell you that I still read fairy-tales and I like them, best of all!”

Low key, I still love fairy tails. I think it’s OK to believe in fairy tales, even when you’re older. You’ve gotta believe in something, right?

“Suddenly you’re afraid and you don’t know what you’re afraid of.”

I think that we’ve all felt like this at some point in time. The overwhelming feeling that we’re afraid and anxious but it’s because of everything and nothing.

"One is never over-dressed or under-dressed in a little black dress."

Also, another favorite. I always question if I'm over-dressed if I leave the house in a dress. But, if Audrey says you're not, you're probably not over-dressed or under-dressed.

“I refuse to become what you call ‘normal.’”

This one hits the spot. I strive to be different, in a good way, from others. I never want to be just like everyone else. I want to be that strong and independent woman who was different.

If you need someone to look up to, Audrey Hepburn is your gal. Always remember, "Elegance is the beauty that never fades."

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
