Every year, Liberty University invites dozens of exciting speakers for convocation. This thrice-weekly event is considered one of the largest regular gatherings of Christians anywhere in the world. From NFL quarterback Tim Tebow to Fox News anchor Sean Hannity to Christian artist Chris Tomlin, the school has a long track record of finding compelling guests for the service. This semester will be no different. While all of the speakers will no doubt be interesting, there are some who have the name recognition to excite the student body long before their arrival.
David Crowder (August 26)
The former lead vocalist and namesake of the defunct David Crowder band, the Christian musician star is in the middle of a successful solo career. Known for hits such as "I Am" and "Come As You Are," this is a great guest to kick off the school year.

Bernie Sanders (September 14)
While this Vermont Senator is not the typical brand of Convocation speaker, Sanders is one of the top Democratic candidates for President. Although he is a self-proclaimed socialist, the Senator will attempt to appeal to the largely conservative student body with his ideas and hopes to use his unique platform to win votes in a potentially tough crowd. He was one of the many Presidential candidates who were invited to speak at this semester's convocation.

Korie and Sadie Robertson (September 18)
Members of the famous Duck Dynasty family, both juggle multiple ventures outside their family life - including writing best selling books. Sadie has released a clothing line and appeared in the hit show "Dancing With the Stars," while her mom manages her own jewelry line.

Tim Hawkins (October 2)
This Christian comedian is the guest speaker I am personally most excited for. If you are unfamiliar with his work, please do not go another second in this state. I recommend the "Chick-fal-A Song," "Pretty Pink Tractor," and "Fire Ants." You will not be disappointed.

Darryl Strawberry (October 12)
A former baseball star for the New York Mets, Strawberry found trouble off the field for much of career. However, he later found Jesus and is now an ordained minister.
