The job of any form of political news to the general public must be completely unbiased as to not only seek to educate everyone but to also ensure that the public may use their critical thinking skills in order to form their own opinions of each candidate on their own. By inserting any level of biased opinion into a news article, a person may be more inclined to reinforce their own beliefs and/or reject any form of new information from changing their schemata. They will only build a grand wall, one that could only be trumped by Trump's, and make this wall permeable only things that fall within their opinion and unpermeable to things they don't agree with. This is where the media plays a part.
I hear people talk about their distrust to media everyday, and how they know that the media is controlling what they see and hear, but that only makes sense. CNN knows that people more inclined to be liberal will listen to them while people who are more conservative will focus onto the likes of Fox news and Breitbart. Rarely do people listen to NPR and Reuters, two almost completely unbiased sources that give information as they get it versus giving it as they feel it should be given. This is a huge issue with large media outlets. If they wanted everyone to be completely educated versus partly educated, we'd evolve a lot faster as a society.
So what did the rather large liberal media do to fuck up this election? They published their opinions in degrading and very prideful ways, coming off as arrogant to any reader who didn't agree with their opinion. This will cause people to reaffirm their own ties and allegiance's, further separating them from the outside world and further into their own line of sight, limited by the blinders that surround their eyes. People feel anger towards those who don't agree with them, and as history shows us, this is a very counter-productive approach to just about anything.
It'll be a long time before many realize their opinions have little to do with anything and that we created our own problems through what we assumed to be advancement in the direction of civilization when we should have looked to philosophy and science in order to become a more pure community. The more boring the book's cover, the more boring it probably is, but boring is the precursor to brilliance, an emotional state that is the calm to a creative storm.
