Dear Baby Sister,

Chances are, you are sitting in your bedroom right now, waiting to hear from the colleges you applied to. I hope you get into the one you want the most, not just because you deserve it, but because seeing you happy is one of the only things I could ever ask for.

I know sometimes I forget to let you know how much I care about you, but trust me, the amount of love I have for you is more than you could ever imagine. The strength you have shown me in your journey through life is something even Disney couldn’t show. You have a story and it is one to be heard.

I hope you never lose your voice in this crazy world. I hope you love and learn because that’s what life is about. In all honesty, life is messy but sometimes you just have to accept it and move on.

I remember when you were little and how you always wanted to be with me. As much as I hated it back then, there is so much that I would give to have that now. We used to fight like no other but that’s not the case anymore. You have grown up into someone who is compassionate and loving.

Honey, you are going to do big things in this world. You might not see that now, but trust me, you have so much potential. You are going to make a man the happiest man in the world. You will be an amazing mother someday.

If you could only see that there is so much more to offer than some stupid high school. High school sucks, as I’m sure you have figured out. The girls that talk shit behind your back? Forget about them. The boys who broke your heart? Leave them behind.

You have such a big heart, don’t let what others say crush that. The love you have for every living thing is beyond cheesy but it's something that not everyone has. Someday, you will be able to give that love to a family and a husband who will love you beyond belief.

Baby girl, you can do it. Just think, in like 6 months, you’ll be graduated and moving on into the real world. There is so much more out there than that little town.

I hope you fall in and out of love so many times. I hope that you find someone who makes you laugh and cry, but at the end of the day still loves you no matter what. I hope you learn from your mistakes. I hope you see the world and that you open your mind to new ideas. I hope you learn to love yourself because that’s the most important thing you will ever learn. I hope your days are filled with laughter. But most of all, I hope you know how much we love you.

You will always be my baby sister, and I wouldn’t want anyone else to have that role. I love you and can’t wait to see where life takes you.
