To My Best Friend's Future Husband

You're one lucky guy.

To My Best Friend's Future Husband

To my best friend's future husband,

Well let me first start off by saying that whoever you are, you are one lucky guy to have landed such a beautiful, kind-hearted, selfless girl like my best friend, so congratulations! Snagging her was probably one of the best decisions you could have made because any guy would kill to have a girl like her. And I must already love you because otherwise she probably wouldn't be marrying you (she needs her best friend's approval.)

Knowing her, it couldn't have been easy to win her over because she has very high standards that not all men are able to meet, and that's what makes her so special. You obviously know that she never settles for anything less than what she deserves and since she is settling down with you, you must be one special guy. If I had to guess you must be very tall and handsome and probably dress extremely well. Also, you probably have a great sense of humor and your weirdness must be compatible with hers, otherwise I wouldn't be writing you this!

Now let me tell you just what you got yourself into. Marrying my best friend also means you're kinda stuck with me too. I mean literally you just gained two wives, good for you! She has always been someone that I knew I could always count on and now she will be that person for you too. Don't be surprised if you come home from work one night and catch us in the kitchen dancing to Back Street Boys and N'Sync. That's normal for us. Either smile and walk by or join in!

Also, just so you know we both will probably have at least 5 dogs and that still will not be enough. She will most likely beg you for another dog or just come home with one, so just let it happen, it will make her happy. And you should be prepared to be best friends with my hubby too, cause yeah that's gonna happen.

At least once a week we will have a girl's night where we will vent about our lives and she will probably talk to me about how you're being dumb (because we both know guys can be very clueless sometimes) but that's okay girls need to talk about that stuff. We will eat our weight in ice cream and maybe some buffalo chicken dip and watch re-runs of Grey's Anatomy (hopefully by then that show will finally come to an end.)

But most importantly, in marrying my best friend you gained another friend as well (me). No matter what I will always be there for the both of you, because I want nothing more than for her to be happy. You should know that you are one lucky guy to have someone like her in your life. Never take her for granted, and when times get rough don't give up on her, because we both know she will never give up on you. She deserves someone who is going to stand by her for good and for worse and I'm trusting you with that responsibility. Besides, if you ever hurt her, you'll have me to deal with.

Last but not least, I am so happy that she met you. Thank you for being the one she will be able to build a life with and for being worthy of her love. I always promised her she would find that special someone and even though she rolled her eyes every time I said it, I knew I was right. I mean really, who could not love her?

I can't wait to meet you some day!

Love,

Her Best Friend & Your Future Wifey #2

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
