Dear Dad,
You are one of the biggest role models in my life and you are my best friend. You have taught me to have faith and hope in everything that I do. You are the best listener and you always know just what to say to help me realize that the world is not crumbling around me even when I feel like it is. You never judge me for my mistakes but instead insist that I learn from them. Thank you for coming to all of my softball games, musicals, and cheer competitions, your support means the world to me. Thank you for telling me to follow my dreams and telling me to work hard because that is the only way I will get to where I want to be.
Thank you for being my shoulder to cry on and the voice of reason that I need far too often. For always asking me how my day was and for taking me out on a father/daughter date if my day didn't go too good. For taking me to church with you on Sunday's and for always reminding me to have faith. For sitting and listening to me rant about meaningless drama that you know will blow over in a week, instead of telling me that though you sit patiently and just put up with my theatrics because you know talking to you about it will make me feel better.
Thank you for always teaching me that being a woman means that I can still do everything a man can do and that I'm just as strong, and to not listen to anyone if they try to tell me any different. For allowing me to make my own choices even if they're a mistake. For picking up all the pieces and putting them back together after I mess up and telling me that it's okay.
Some girls aren't lucky enough to have such a strong caring father figure in their life let alone to have their dad be their best friend, yet I'm lucky enough to have both. My life would be so different without you and I am so blessed to be able to call you my dad.
I love you, dad.
Sincerely,
Your little girl
