Dear college seniors,

Being a senior is hard work. Between trying to finish your degree, trying to get our life together, and finding a job/grad school to go to when you graduate. But, MOST of all, the senior capstone is the biggest hurdle to jump when trying to graduate during your last year. Let's be honest here, senioritis is a real thing, and overcoming that is tough. Lacking the motivation to study, to do the research, and to show up to class can be some real issues seniors face when working their way through senior year.

1.

To start off.

2.

You have to start somewhere

3.

if you need help, GET IT. Failing is not a choice, one bad decision can risk your future.

4.

^^ See the above.

5.

Success isn't always easy. Sometimes you have to take the hard route.

6.

Do we really need to disobey Ryan Gosling?

7.

We've all been there. I wish I started doing a lot of things a year ago.

8.

Do the work and bask in its rewards later.

9.

^^ need I say more?

10.

11.

Have I mentioned you got this?

12.

13.

In everything you do in life.

14.

Take the chances.

15.

I Promise. We all got this.

So seniors, take those chances. Spend the time studying, spend the time writing your paper or doing the research. Seven months until we graduate. We can do this!

Love,

A fellow senior who is struggling

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
