Professor Narasimhan, aka Angela, aka Ang, aka one of my absolute best friends at Keuka: I cannot begin to thank you for everything you have constantly done for me, and the things you continue to do for me. I cannot imagine actually having been able to cross that stage Saturday if it weren't for you.
Freshman year:
I walked into my FYE Class to this crazy professor and I had no idea what to think of her. One of the very first classes freshman year and she just was so hyped up all the time and so happy and I honestly thought she was nuts.
Sophomore year:
This is where it all started: the DC trip. Not only did this start because I was texting and calling her nonstop when my flight was screwed up, but she actually sat down with the girls and told us all not to settle, not to stick around in a relationship that we weren't 100% smitten in. While she wasn't speaking directly to me, it hit me. It made me realize that my relationship at that time wasn't healthy and I truly wasn't happy. She not only took me under her wing when that relationship ended, but she was more than a professor. She was someone I could turn to at all costs and be able to confide in with anything that came my way.
Junior year:
This is when my life came crashing down and I was able to be lifted back up all in one semester. I could come and talk to her about my boy situations, and she gave me advice to help me deal with them. She helped me through my academic issues that I faced and helped me set up my schedules each and every semester to make sure that I was going to take all the right classes and be on schedule to graduate. She helped me to set up my internship to which she gave me pointers on applying as well as writing me letters of recommendation that helped me land my spot. Throughout the entire internship, we were in contact roughly weekly, just to check in and catch up with how everything was going.
Senior year:
This past year I feel as though we had gotten much closer, we confided in one another when we had issues with men, families, etc. She was the one I went to when I had an extreme meltdown and no one else seemed to care. I was able to turn to her when my academic schedule wasn't correct, and I was so afraid that I wouldn't graduate. SHE did that. She put me on the right track to not only graduate, but helped my finish my last field period on time, in order to walk at graduation and not be stuck at Keuka for another year.
Angela, I am truly grateful to have had you as a professor and as a friend at Keuka. I can honestly say that if I didn't have you in my life I wouldn't be where I am right now, I wouldn't have graduated on time at all, and I definitely wouldn't be as happy as I am with life if it wasn't for your constant love and support. You are truly the best and I love you so much for everything that you've done.
Keep being the best person you can be, professionally, and personally. You are the most inspiring professor. I learned so much from you whether it was about our government and foreign affairs, or if it was how to make myself happy and deal with all of the bumps life threw my way. You were always there for me. Thank you for being you, and I cannot wait to see you again!
