Oh summer break,
How I have longed for you to return and grace us all with your golden rays and bright blue skies. It has felt like you were at my fingertips for so long, but just enough out of reach that I have yet to see you yet. You're something that we all look forward to every year because we all need that warmth and a little bit of relaxation.
It's nice to see all of the wonderful vacations and experiences that everyone gets to have and enjoy once you come around. You take away a large amount of stress that is brought about by the rest of the year, and finally allow me to have a well-deserved break.
The weather that has been leading up to you has been far less than ideal, but I hope that you will turn that around. With you comes so much warmth and comfort, which really helps us all to relax. There is so much more that I can do now that you are here and school has come to an end.
I will see all of my family that live back home, and I will be reunited with all of the friends that I had to part ways with when I left for school. I can finally go down the shore again and sink my toes into the sand while I listen to the calming crash of the waves. I can sleep a little extra after I stay up a little later. But what is different about these late nights is that they are no longer filled with an immense amount of studying, and are instead filled with bonfires and laughter.
The sad part is the fact that due to your arrival, I will be leaving behind the countless friends that I have made while I was at school. I know that I have lived many summers without them, but now that they have become a part of my life, this one seems that it will be different.
I will not have the same summer memories with them, but seeing them again in the fall will give me something to look forward too. It gives me something that I know I will have to go back to once school comes around again.
With all of that being said, I know that you will be more than amazing. I look forward to you every year because I know that the memories that will come with you will be ones that I will never forget. You give me so many opportunities to do adventurous and amazing things that I will always remember as I grow older, and I think that that is something that is very important to have.
You come with so much good, and I am so excited to have you back again.
Basking in your warmth will make all of the school attributed stress worth it, which is really saying something. Seeing you feels like finally seeing a finish line, which I think we all need sometimes. Thank you for returning once more.
