Hey there,

It’s good to see you again. Not to ruin the ending, but you’ll be okay. Your life will be amazing. I know that you spent way too much time worrying about what others thought of you and being so insecure with yourself. I wish that you could have started to love yourself so much earlier than you did. You deserve love. I know that you don’t always hear that and when you do, you don’t always believe it. Due to the way people treated you and the lies that you believe about yourself, you’ll grow to hate the world around you. Trust me, it’s not all bad. There is good left in this world. You just have to try and look for it. You’ll discover early in high school what you want to do with your life. But once you get to college, you’ll start to question it. Trust me. You are exactly where you need to be and exactly where you belong.

You will often consider yourself a fringe friend. No, that doesn’t mean you’re flighty. It just means that you have different friend groups. There will be groups that don’t like that about you. They just don’t understand that you’re likable. And yes, you are a very likable person. I know you don’t believe it, but you are. Just don’t trust everyone in every group like you would like to. I know that you are too trusting when you first meet people. You want to show them that you are going to be with them until the end, but you didn’t know that the end didn’t mean until the end of life, it meant until that stage of life ended. And you were. You were with all those people until each stage of life ended. But don’t worry, you’ll find your group of people that genuinely care about you and want you to succeed. Hold onto them. Those are the ones that will be with you until the end of time. Being a part of so many groups will also cause you to feel alone a lot. You won’t feel like you fit in. Just because that’s how you feel, doesn’t make it true. Those people love you and want only the best for you. Those who choose to leave you or get mad at you because of the friend you have weren’t really your friends in the first place.

Stop calling yourself ugly. It doesn’t do you or anyone around you any good. You’re beautiful. Don’t deny it now. You spent so much of your life denying it and not believing those words. I just wish you could see yourself through my eyes. And I wish you could see all the amazing things that will happen to you. Yes, you’re going to struggle with loving yourself and trying to show love to those around you but once you get there, you’ll have this amazing light to give to others.

I know it always seems like everyone gets all the lucky breaks. It seems that everyone around you is always succeeding and you’re always failing. Just so you know, they will hit a peak. You’re just waiting for your peak. It will happen. I know it doesn’t seem like it, but it will. The best is yet to come for you. I wish you could see it, but just know that your prime time will come. It’s better to have your peak later on in life as opposed to in high school.

You had your struggles and trying times, but they gave you strength. They taught you how to be strong even when you thought you couldn’t go on. But don’t you dare forget all the good times that you had. You have an amazing life and you're surrounded by amazing people that love you and cannot wait to see all the amazing things that you accomplish. Believe it or not, you will accomplish amazing things. Don’t forget the accomplishments you’ve achieved and don’t let the insecurities of other dwindle those accomplishments okay? Stay beautiful!

Until next time, I love you.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
