A Letter to my Two Best Friends

Some may say you are lucky if you find one best friend within your lifetime. If that is the case then God has truly blessed me with two beautiful women that I am able to call my best friends and my soul mates. Each of these ladies are unique in there own ways and each hold a very special place in my heart for their own reasons.

To my very first best friend I met in high school, thank you for helping me stay grounded in the times that I struggle. I met you when I was going through the loss of a negative friend group and you helped to guide me out of that rut. You showed me the value of my self worth and the real qualities I should look for in a friend. You are my go to person for honest advice and I know that you always have the best intentions at heart for me. You are mom when I need it and honestly the person who keeps me level headed. When I take a step back and look at the woman you are becoming, I am so honored to say you are my best friend. You have so much determination, drive, care, and passion for everything you do in your life that I can only aspire to be half of the person you are. I know that one day you are going to change lives in the young souls that you teach, because you have already changed mine so much. Thank you for putting up with all of my levels of crazy and being the most dependable person that I know. With you as a best friend I know I will always have a shoulder to cry on, a voice of encouragement, and an honest lifelong friendship.

To my second best friend that I stumbled upon my sophomore year of college, you are the addition that I never knew I needed in my life. You have a heart of gold and a personality just like mine. Thank you for being my go to person for food runs, car jams, and all things silly. You bring out the child in me and I could never be more thankful for that. There is never a time we are in a room together and there is not an ounce of laugher. You radiate my life with the type of positivity and faith that I can only dream to have. The faith that you hold strong to in your life is so amazing to me. Just from the short time I have known you you have taught me so much more about Jesus and have brought me closer to the gospel than I have even been before. When I look at the woman that you are becoming, I am inspired to be half that woman you are one day. It makes my heart warm that I am going to be able to watch you grow as a person and see all of your dreams come true. Thank you for being my crazy and fun loving best friend, I will never take your care free personality for granted.

When you mesh these two beautiful ladies together you find the two parts of my soul. Each of you balance me in utter perfection. I hope that this trio will never be lost, but only bonded closer together as time goes on. I love each of you with my whole heart and I cannot wait to travel through this journey of life with each of you by my side forever and always. Never change who either of you are for this world because God has already perfected each of you.

Loyally,

Your Best Friend

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Challah vs. Easter Bread: A Delicious Dilemma

Is there really such a difference in Challah bread or Easter Bread?

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
