A Letter to My Three Roommates

Hey y'all,

I wanted to write this letter to tell you I appreciate all of you. When we first decided to move-in together, we were all so excited and now that the excitement has worn off and we have officially moved in, I wanted to say a few things.

First, I am sorry. I am sorry for all the times I will ask you to braid my hair. I am sorry for all the times I forget to flush the toilet and for the amount of hair I will shed. I am sorry for all the times I will interrupt your study sessions with the latest drama in my life. I am sorry for constantly texting you asking where you are because I am bored and alone in the room. I am sorry for all the times I will annoy you with my loud and obnoxious tendency to laugh at everything. I am sorry for my choice of Netflix movie and for finishing the season without you. I am sorry for the mornings I absolutely need your opinion on my outfit and throw a fit when I cannot find something. I am sorry for my random meltdowns when something does not go my way.

I am sorry for all of this, but more importantly, I am grateful for you putting up with it. I am thankful that whenever I need a shoulder to cry on, you are there. I am thankful for the times you make me coffee when I am stressed. I am thankful for your patience while I try outfit after outfit on. I am thankful you did my dishes and thankful you made dinner. I am thankful you put up with my crazy stories and my insane laughter. Thank you for always replying to me when I need you and for letting me in the building when I left my key in our room. Thank you for being my official plus 1 or plus 2 when I do not want to go somewhere alone. Thank you for the late nights of laughter and friendship. Thank you for searching through the dorm when I can't find something. Thank you for always being there.

There will be times where you hate me and wish I would just leave you alone. There will be times when I feel that way too. There will also be times when you feel like you are burdening me, but let me assure you that you are not. I love your presence and I love your unique personalities. You are my family away from home and I cannot ask for a better family.

With much love,

Your friend

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
