First off let me just start by simply saying thank you. Whether you realize it or not, you had such a huge impact on my, and everyone else on our floor's, first year of college. You welcomed all of us in since day zero with open arms, and we all are so lucky to have you.
One thing that I appreciate more than you will ever imagine is how much you care about emphasizing the strength and power of being a woman. Having a hall theme that is literally surrounded around empowering women was such a great idea, and it pushed us residents to be the best form of ourselves. Seeing your (extremely artistic) signs on the walls and in the bathroom stalls was a daily reminder to keep going and to keep being the best version of myself, so thank you!
I remember the exact moment I met you. I was with my parents, filling out my paperwork before officially receiving my door code and moving all of my stuff in. You saw the room number I wrote down, and you were so excited to tell me that I was on your wing! I awkwardly made some quiet comment like "oh, cool!" We had a hall meeting that day, and I knew from then on that I got lucky with an amazing RA. You never scold us residents, and you treat us like we are actually young adults, not children.
Thank you for avoiding getting us in trouble as much as possible. I know as an RA it is your job to make sure we are following the rules, but you never went out of your way to get us in trouble. If worst came to worst, you would just politely knock on our door and ask us to quiet down or turn down the music. It is so much easier to be understanding when asked in a kind way like that, and I appreciate the respect you give us very much. You also very rarely ask me to quiet down, even though I am one of the loudest people in this hall. Instead of looking at it as me being obnoxious and annoying, you look at it as me having fun and enjoying my time here at college, so thank you for that.
This article does not do you justice. Zoe, you are such a wonderful person to look up to, and 6th TN is so lucky to have you. You have such a positive impact on this university, and we are so lucky to have you!
PS. You are definitely the coolest for being in an A Capella group, and you kick butt at singing your heart out.
Lots of love,
Your Residents
