Our Dearest Fish,
They say a dog is a man's best friend. And although I miss my dogs to the utmost extent, I am very fortune to have you in my life. I wake up and fall asleep to your shining guppy face, and immediately my heart escalates. My day seems just a bit brighter whenever I return from a stressful class, and see you patiently waiting for a friend. You give me a legitimate excuse to snap dorky pet pictures, obsessing over how cute you shimmy along in your tank. In addition, I catch myself tweeting about you instead of boys... I suppose this is a better distraction? You enjoy the company of our guests. We see many old and new faces visiting our room on a regular basis, so having your blessing to meet each and every one warms our hearts. Whenever the roomie and I agree to a jam session, you never fail to chime in. In fact, I'm in the progress of making a playlist just for those special occasions. Along with the ridiculous sing-alongs you've witnessed far too many times, we'd also like to thank you for tolerating our incompetence to faithfully clean your tank. We knew boys were messy, but you just might be the messiest of them all. Nonetheless, you provide a spark in both of our lives that couldn't be filled by anyone (or anything) else. You might be a pain in the neck to take care of sometimes, and the occasional sass we receive from you is quite shocking, but this college experience wouldn't be the same without you. From accidentally being overfed in the middle of the night, to keeping me company when I'm alone, to even relieving my stress before an impossible exam, you've got the trick to curing a rough day. Life is just a bowl a cherries in your presence, my friend. I cannot wait to cherish the adventures yet to come. You're a big fish in a small pond; don't ever change!
Xoxo,
Your Loving Parents
