To My Other Half

A letter that was a long time coming

To My Other Half
Ali Wolf

This letter has been a long time coming, but here it finally is: a letter to my other half. Where do I begin? Let's start from where it all began.

Freshman year of high school was not something that I particularity want to look back on, but when I do want to look back on it, I want to look back on it, because that was when I met you. You were this football player and I was this lost little freshman girl trying to find her place in the world.

We began talking and you helped me through a lot and that I will never be able to truly thank you enough for, but I really think that is why our bond is so close. I remember coming out of class and you would shove me into the lockers as a joke because you and I just thought it was so funny. We would both come out of lacrosse practice and I would blush because I liked you.

Flash forward to when we started dating. Yes, our first dates were awkward and needless to say I'm still sorta awkward around your family roughly 3 ago later (but I swear I'm getting better).

You put up with the fact that I complain about getting B's in school and being an overachiever and being a stress ball.

You also say you like my cooking {but you're so nice sometimes that I can't tell if you're just saying that to make me happy, but either way I appreciate it ;) }

We have watched each other grow and hit milestones.

But most of all, you're important to me. You make me happy. You always know how to fill my life up with joy, comfort, and happiness.

The thing is that through everything, you've always been my best friend and I've always been yours. At the end of the day, you will always be my best friend.

The truth is that our relationship isn't really like other people's relationships. We don't get to see each other too often, but that doesn't, mean that we don't love each other. But what most people don't know is that there is history with us and that we were best friends long before we started dating.

I just want you to know that I'm so thankful for all that you do for me.

Thank you for being my other half through thick and thin and most importantly making the effort to drive all the way to see me at least once every couple of months.

The love and support that you have given me from day one is something that I can never truly pay you back for and that is something I will be forever grateful for. You have helped me though so much and I truly cannot say how happy I am to have you in my life for that.

Thank you for supporting my dreams and as you know; I will always support your dreams. I haven't met a stronger person until I met you. That's why I call you my Superman. You were and always are there to help me. I value you more than anything and most importantly I'm so proud to call you mine.

I hope you know how valued you are to me, how much I love you and i can't wait to see where life and all the adventures will take us. (also happy 21st birthday)

I love you to the moon and back.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

Top 10 Reasons My School Rocks!

Why I Chose a Small School Over a Big University.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
