Dear mommy,
There are a lot of words I could use to describe you. Loving, caring, helpful, intelligent, understanding, strong-headed, cool, resilient, courageous; the list could go on. I have spent my entire life with you and just when I think you couldn't possibly be any greater than you already are, you surprise me. You have never faltered in showing unconditional love for me and I don't think I could ever thank you enough for that. We have cried and laughed to the point of crying together and moments like that have always reminded me how much I mean to you.
We have fought and disagreed and said hurtful things to one another but I know we've never questioned how much we love each other. You have stood by my side and supported me in literally everything. You have done countless things for me without hesitation and I want to thank you for all of that. Thank you for loving me before I even entered this world, then loving me even more once I did. Thank you for smothering me with kisses and talking sweetly to me when I was grumpy. Thank you for still loving me after I had just thrown up in your hair and all over your clean shirt. Thank you for cleaning up after me until I learned to do it myself. Thank you for caring enough to spend time teaching me new things and helping me grow. Thank you for providing me with every little thing I could have possibly needed while growing up.
From necessities like food and shelter to money for when I wanted to see a movie with my friends. To even now while I'm away from home and I need a little extra cash for Jimmy John's. Thank you for disciplining me so that I grew up to be a respectful person. Also, for helping me to learn how to stand up for myself when necessary and be equally respected. Thank you for allowing me to express myself in all the ways my little heart desired. Thank you for all the times you drove me to soccer practices and games, and dance practices and recitals. And for coming to watch and cheer me on in everything I did. Thank you for letting me go to sleepovers at my friend's houses even though you knew you would be worried sick until you picked me up the next morning.
Thank you for the birthday decorations every year, because I know how much you love do that, and for the multiple birthday cards. Thank you for never allowing me to talk down about myself and for teaching me that self love is one of the most important things I could have. Thank you for instilling Christian values in me that I've been able to carry with me through my life. Thank you for showing me what a woman of God looks, talks and acts like.
Lastly, thank you for constantly reminding me how much you love me and for never giving up on me.
Love, your imperfect daughter
