Dear my wonderful roommates that are leaving me here at college,
I know a lot of people have miserable times with their roommates, especially if they are random roommates. You have four people who have all been brought up from different families, so the little ways you want to run your house can raise conflict if it does not match up with the others. However, I was blessed beyond belief. A year ago, I walked into our house not knowing either of you, and now I walk out adding two wonderful names to my bridesmaid list. Thank you for loving me in the mornings when I know I look anything but beautiful. Thank you for letting me borrow all your clothes whenever I needed them. I still have a few to return! Thank you for binge watching "Game of Thrones" and "The Hills" with me.
My favorite texts were those one-word texts asking if I wanted to cuddle up on the couch and watch T.V. Thank you for keeping up with all the new guys that would pop up in my life. When I would say “Remember library guy,” you would be able to tell me his full name and backstory, because you guys cared to listen. Thank you for holding me while I sobbed about how ‘Library Guy’ broke my heart until two in the morning, and then knowing exactly what I needed: Taco Bell. Thank you for always going to my favorite restaurant even when I know you guys were tired of eating there for the third time that week. Thank you for the constant laughs that spread through our house. Every time one of you would walk through the door I knew my day was about to be brighter. Thank you for helping me with all the stuff I should know how to do, but I don’t. “How do you make this? Can you bleach khakis? How do you turn the dryer on?” Thank you for letting me bring a cat into this wild family we have. Thank you for loving her more than you love me. Thank you for listening to me bring up Jesus in most conversations.
Thank you for dealing with all the tears (I know there was a lot). Thank you for teaching me how to be kind yet strong. Thank you for teaching me that beauty isn’t just on the outside (even though I have never seen anyone do makeup as well as you do). Thank you for showing me the kind of woman I aspire to be. I really do not know what I am going to do without you two not constantly supporting me and loving me. I need you guys here with me. I am so proud of the women that you are, and I know you are going to do amazing in the real world. Please promise to come visit us back in the college world. Thank you for changing my life for the better and letting me experience true honest friendship. I know you will be in my lives forever and I cannot be more excited about that. Thank you for making me strive to be better. Thank you for simply being you.
I love you guys.
