To my best friend's house,
You have been my second home for years. It's almost as if I have just as many memories here than at my own house. You've been a place that feels safe and welcoming every time I'm here. You've been a home filled with stories, good and bad, that my friends and I can talk about for years. Some of the stories will make us laugh, or cringe, but mostly they will make us smile.
This place has brought me and my friends together on countless occasions and has not only made our friendships stronger but has also helped to build who we all are. We've spent some of the most important years of our lives here. We've gone through puberty, drama, and some of our first drunk stupid decisions here. All of these things that we've gone through here have taught us lessons that we wouldn't have learned otherwise. We learned that friends always take priority over guys, people will use you, and always ask your friends' opinions on your clothes before you go out in public.
There are so many things to thank this place for. For giving us a place to sleep, even if it's the living room floor. For being a place that anyone can come and go as they please, whether our best friend is there or not. For being our favorite consistent drinking spot through the years. But most importantly, for always being a place we can go to no matter how long we've been away.
A lot of things have changed since we've entered college. We all have separate lives than the ones we use to share every day. Finding a time to all hang out together seems to get harder and harder as we've gotten older. But, when we finally find a time to hang out and go back to this place that we all could call a home, it's as if we've never left. We're back to sleeping on the living room floor, gossiping, and making stupid drunk decisions.
This place will always hold a special place in my heart. I'm happy that I can always call this place a home. I'm happy that I can stay there while my best friend is at work. I'm happy that I can help myself to anything in the fridge without asking. And I'm especially happy that I'm always welcome here.
Love always,
Your part-time resident
