Sometimes your life flashes before your eyes. It feels like you just completed something and then you realize that was yesterday, a month ago or a year ago. The clock on life keeps ticking without you realizing it. It has almost been 365 days since I walked across the stage and received my diploma which is so crazy and surreal to me. My best friend is about to receive hers in little less than a week and this is my way of telling her congratulations. Obviously, I will congratulate her on the day too.

The day you moved in next door is what started our friendship. This friendship would involve many walks between our houses, many walks around our neighborhood and many memories and secrets shared. We became the best of friends really fast and looking back now I am so grateful to have had your friendship for the past fifteen years. The laughs we have shared have been great. The memories we have shared have been even better. Your friendship is a gift I will always cherish.

You are about to receive your diploma and all the hard work you have done at Lake George High School is about to pay off. You are about to join me and many others who have already started adulting, Sad face. Your high school career may be over but the memories made in high school and before will always be there for you to look back on.

I want you to know one thing, that you will be amazing at whatever you choose to do in your life. You will succeed in all that you do in this beautiful, crazy life of yours. You will make amazing memories and you will find love and find happiness. Graduating High School is a big step in life and honestly, there are so many more things to look forward to after high school. The world has so much to offer you and I know you will be able to offer the world a lot too.

I am so grateful to have been able to experience high school alongside you. You were there for every big or small moment for me. You have been my rock through all the good and bad times. I am forever grateful to call you my best friend. I am so excited for you and to see what your future holds. No matter what I know you are going to do amazing things in your life. I love you.

XO,

Marty

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Challah vs. Easter Bread: A Delicious Dilemma

Is there really such a difference in Challah bread or Easter Bread?

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
