A Letter To My Amazing People

Where do I even begin? True friends are hard to come by. Not everyone has your best interest at heart. People are selfish and self-absorbed. But you guys, you are the people who make this world a better place. You are all honest, kind and genuine. And I've never been more thankful to have people like you in my corner. And honestly, I wouldn't trade any of you for anything in this world.

Thank you for sticking by my side when I wasn't always the best friend. Whether that be because I was having a bad day or a bad week or made a couple of mistakes.

Thank you for giving me the benefit of the doubt and never leaving me alone and in the dark. Even when I often may have deserved it. Never because I treated you guys poorly, but just simply because I have put you in situations that no one wants to be in. Way too often. My actions can be equivalent to jumping out of a plane without a parachute, and you guys always end up coming after me to make sure we reach the bottom together.

I can be a crazy, and a handful. I will push you in directions you don't always want to go but I will always love you guys. I will always be there to support you, give you advice and tell you the truth, even when it's not what you wanted to hear.

I will fight for you and will pick you up and carry you when you're down. I will carry every ounce of pain you can't handle. In exchange, I hope you all keep tolerating my lack of control.

You have seen me at my worst. You have seen me at my darkest. You've all held me closer as I pushed you away. And there is no better feeling than to know I'm walking through life with people like every single one of you.

I respect you all. You may get angry and frustrated, because of who I can be, but you still love me unconditionally. I will, hopefully, one day make up for all my crazy college years.

This is a letter to:

My parents

My best friends

My boyfriend

My siblings

You all have supported me and loved me when I needed it the most. You are the reason I love my life so much and feel like the luckiest girl in the world. I truly do feel so unbelievably lucky to have every single one of you in my life. I would do anything for you all and I know the feeling is mutual.

I love you all to pieces. You're my people. And the greatest people ever, at that.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
