An Open Letter To My Guy Best Friend

First of all, I want you to know that you annoy me 99.99% of the time. I have never met someone who annoys me as much as you do, but at the same time, I've never been more thankful for a person like you. Thank you for being annoying because I wouldn't want you to be anything else. Thank you for the snapchats everyday that remind me how weird we are and how horrible we can be. It's the little things that remind me how lucky I am to have you in my life. I understand it can be hard to be friends with me. As much as I hate it, I'm going to have days where I'm randomly emotional or I'll vent to you for hours about something stupid.

Thank you for the constant reminders that I can do whatever I set my mind to, whether that’s acing an exam or telling someone how I feel. Thank you for being there when I have to rant about boys because you know I have plenty, but, at the same time, thank you for giving me perspective that I can’t see or understand at first. Thank you for telling me when I'm wrong, which according to you is a lot. Thank you for saving me from drama and helping me clear my mind. I love all my friends but sometimes I can't handle the drama and I break down.

Thank you for giving it to me straight. When I do ask for your opinion (even though you'll give it whether I ask or not), you don't say what I want to hear rather what I need to hear. Thank you for the random messages on Facebook and Instagram when you found something funny. I know you send them to me because you know I need a good laugh because I'm "being too serious."

I don't actually know how we became so close. Maybe it's because I find your horrible sense of humor funny, or maybe it's because we are so similar but so different at the same time. You made going to class at 8 am more fun than it actually was. I can never truly stay mad at you because you know how to put a smile on my face. You're the first person I want to talk to when something cool happens. When I'm feeling down, you wouldn't run away from me but instead made me talk it out with you. I don't know where I would be without you! So thank you buddy and know that no one can ever take your place.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
