An Open Letter To My Best Friend Who Has Been through It All
Arielle Lewis

Dear best friend,

As you move to the other side of the country, I wanted to thank you for being an amazing best friend. A lot of people have come and gone in my life, but you never left. Even if we ever had our ups and downs, you were always there for me. Also even no matter how many idiots come into our life, we've always managed to push through.

You always believed in me even when I didn't believe in myself and I thank you for motivating me to do well! Not only that, but you are the strongest person that I know and no one can take that away from you.

I remember it was September of 2012 and it was freshman year orientation. I also remember coming up to you and introducing myself and we instantly hit it off so quickly. Now we're basically part of each other's families and I pretty much know where everything is in your house, starting with grabbing dishes and a fork.

At this point, I pretty much live in your house. When we're not hanging out, we're always filling each other in with tea and laughing on the phone for hours until my mom texts me to go to bed. Even when I decided to go to school in another state, we would always manage to talk pretty much every day like I was never away, well because we have to keep up our Snapchat streaks that constantly fail. (And the fact that I spent all of that money on the cruise just to keep the streaks alive.)

Now that you are moving, I am excited about your new journey and I can't wait to visit. This gives me a good reason for my parents to let me fly to your new state for Spring Break. I also hope everyone has someone like you in their lives because if they don't then they're missing out. Thank you for being an amazing best friend and don't worry, no matter how far you are, you will still be my maid of honor okay? I have to save that in my notes somewhere.

Also, and please stay away from cacti, creepy dating sites, f-boys and don't scream at people on the road (even though people in that state are horrible drivers). You'll also be an amazing Nurse by the way!

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

Top 10 Reasons My School Rocks!

Why I Chose a Small School Over a Big University.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
