A Letter To My Best Friend
JO KRAVITS

Dear best friend,

In a few short days, you will be moving to Arkansas to start what might just best the best 9 months of your life. I know this is because I am your best friend and it's one of the only things you have not shut up about for the last 6 months. I also know you so I know you're probably scared, scared of the unknown and of what's to come. But also excited for this new chapter that is about to begin. Arkansaw is a long ways from home 1,246 miles to be exact.

You are setting out to do the only thing that I have heard you talk about in the last year and to live on a farm with a bunch of cute fluffy animals. To help the earth and to teach others about sustainability and you're doing that you're finally doing that. This past year was so so many things for the both of us, and honesty at one point I thought that I was going to lose you forever. Ultimately, we made it through and this year showed me so much as I'm sure it did the same for you. We grew up became adults found ourselves and overcame so so much.

We truly are bigger people even though you are still like 5'4. We changed a whole lot and change is one of those things that is inevitable as time goes on. I'm hopeful that this friendship is never something that will change. You have the ability to change the world when it's something you're passionate about. I see it in your eyes every day. So go change the world, Jo. I expect nothing less. I have this quote about change for you. I read it and knew it was something you needed to have before you left. So here it is: "For what its worth... it's never too late or in my case too early.

To be whoever you want to be. there's no time limit. Start whenever you want. You can change or stay the same. There are no rules to this thing. We can make the best or the worst of it. I hope you make the best of it. I hope you see things that startle you. I hope you feel things you've never felt before.

I hope you meet people who have a different point of view. I hope you live a life you're proud of. and if not. I hope you have the courage to change it"- F.Scott Fitzgerald

Love,

Tal

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
