Dear Any Senior Graduating This Semester,

DON'T LEAVE. Yeah, that's the first thought that occurs when I think of all my friends who are graduating Stony this semester. But the second is how proud I am of you all. The third would be all the memories we've made and how you've shaped me as a person. Some of you I've known for years and others I met this semester in my horrid 8:30 am lecture (why would you do that to yourself senior year?- I am talking about you Mr.Abin).

Joe: I met you in bio lab circa spring 2015 and I am so grateful for it. I can't say that we were friends straight away, or that we would still be friends after lab was over. But I'm glad I was wrong. Outside of your tough exterior, lies a really nice guy. Thanks for never judging me, and just always being there. You are going to kill it at law school!!

Abin: Mr.Abin, look, I told you I am going to make a sappy Odyssey post about you. Here it is. I met you what half way through this semester and boy, am I glad I did. They say things always happen for a reason, and when I moved my seat near you, I was a very sad girl because I was going through some stuff (which you know about so I won't go into detail). But there you were, all full of jokes. I want to thank you for letting me in. For not letting me feel like I'm an outsider. Thanks for letting me "like" all your events you were interested in on Facebook. I am going to miss the one and only Abin. But I know you will be touching people wherever you go with your infectious joyfulness. I know you will do great in Pharmacy School!!

Jackie: Gurl, I met you half way through this semester as well and I also want to thank you for letting me into your front of the class cool kids section. You are a pretty bad ass girl. I admire your work ethic. I am so honored to have met you and I hope whatever you do in life you end up happy.

To anyone who's graduating, if I know you or not that I didn't include, I am proud of you as well. Graduating is something to be proud of. Whether you are graduating early, on time or even late. HEY, you're graduating and no one can take that away from you. I don't care if you're degree is in biochem or art; you earned it. You stayed up those late nights and got it done. And now it's time to celebrate that achievement.

So, Class of 2017, you're finally Stony Alumni!!, Congratulations!

Love,

Your neighborhood humanoid

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
