It’s been around nine months since we’ve lived in the same house together and everything has dramatically changed. I’m sure that some of my old belongings that were left behind are now “yours,” the room that was once mine has become your hangout space, but I just want you to know a couple things when I get back…
I have grown since being in college, not much physically but mentally. I have found that I missed you more than we both thought we would. There’s not a day that goes by where I don’t think of you. I have found that I catch myself talking about you all to majority of my friends and showing them pictures of you all the time.
I won’t find myself getting bored at home anymore because you will be there. College is weird. There are times where all you want to do is be surrounded by people and then there are times where you just can’t get away from anyone. There is so much that goes on in college that doesn’t at home, and I can’t wait to experience the “boredom” that you have all summer long.
This doesn’t change how I would like my space, though. Again, it has been nine months since I have had my own room. Not sharing some of my stuff for awhile might happen. Don’t take it personally, because I have been sharing absolutely everything in a small cubical for the past nine months.
I am so excited though to hear all of the stories that you have to tell when I get back and meet all of your new friends. Hopefully, you can meet all of mine, too! In college, we see each other every couple weeks and I cannot wait to see you every day. Sure, you will get on my nerves and I will be on yours as well but it doesn’t change how much I have missed someone to pick on and be picked on me.
So I am ready for the late night McDonalds runs, whether it is for ice cream or midnight pancakes. Though college is the called “the greatest time of your life” nothing changes the relationship that we have at home. The goofing around, violently screaming at each other over a game or arguing who has to take the dog out. It may not seem like it now, but I actually cannot wait to be home all summer. With you.
