To My Younger Siblings,
To be completely honest, being in college has made me realize how insanely lucky I am to have the two of you in my life. Don't get me wrong, I could not be happier in college. I am so thankful I have sorority sisters who have made college a home away from home for me, but I cannot help but think about how much I miss you.
You were born a little after a year from when I was born. That being said, I had absolutely no idea what I was in for having siblings when our parents told me I was going to be a big sister. Being the oldest child in the family meant a lot of responsibilities were coming my way. I would soon become "the guinea pig" of the family, which meant all of the mistakes I made would be learning lessons for our parents to avoid from happening to you. A curse for me, but a blessing for you. Although I often complain about these occurrences, I truly would not have it any other way.
I am very lucky I have a brother and a sister, who just so happen to be twins. Yes, that means double everything. Two heads are better than one, right? I do not understand the twin telepathy you have, then again, I probably will never understand it. But, I do understand the friendship we have, and it is unlike any other. Those cheesy quotes about siblings on Google are so on point.
Despite our name-calling, teasing, arguments and sass, you have taught me so much about myself, and about life.
Thank you for being there for me whenever I need to talk. Whether it is about school or just a funny story, I am so glad I can always lean on you.
Thank you for sharing the same craziness and weirdness with me. It is great to know that these traits were genetic.
Thank you for always making me laugh and smile. I am so thankful for the happiness and joy you spread every day.
Thank you for being my biggest supporters. I am so glad you have been there for me whether it is at the softball games I played during my childhood, to attending my high school graduation.
Thank you for looking up to me as a role model. Being the oldest child can sometimes be a difficult job, and it means a lot to me that you respect me for that.
Last and certainly not least, thank you for being my rocks, my partners-in-crime and my built-in best friends. You never fail to get on my biggest nerve, but to tell you the truth, I would never trade the friendship I have with the two of you for anything else in the world. Life would be boring without your presence.
Love, Your Older Sister
