Dear Bff,
You've been there for me ever since I can remember... okay since seventh grade, but we don't talk about middle school days #awkward. I honestly couldn't imagine not having you in my life. Sure, we've had our ups and downs, what friendship doesn't? But nothing had made us closer than me moving halfway across the country.
The summer leading up to my move was probably the best summer I've ever had, and I have you to thank for that. No really, I spent every waking hour at your house/with you so thanks for a kick a** summer. You rock. The only thing about that summer that sucked was knowing that every day that passed was one more day closer to my move.
When that day came I really didn't know what to say to you. How was I supposed to say bye to the only person who's been consistent in my life for the past six years (besides my parents)? You showed up, we hugged, and I cried the whole way to the airport. I couldn't believe that the next time I would see you would be Christmas, i.e. four months away... okay, I saw you at Thanksgiving and surprised you but that wasn't supposed to happen.
Those three months leading up to Thanksgiving were tough. I wished you were there to experience every major event that happened with me. All I wanted was my best friend by my side, but we still texted every day. If we went a day or two without texting we could pick up right where we left off. Our friendship grew stronger, and now I know that nothing can split us apart.
We've had our fair share of days where we don't talk to each other. You text me with all your boyfriend troubles and I text you asking why I'm still alone... no really this is true. I am so thankful to have you in my life, and the times you visit me over the next three and a half years are going to be amazing.
So thank you for being you. For loving me through all the stupid things I've done in my life. For being there when boys screwed me over time and time again. For making me laugh so hard I cried, and maybe peed a little. For having drunken adventures with me. For still being there even though we have a bajillion miles between us. Thank you for being the best person in my life.
