Dear Friend,
We all have that friend, the one who makes you want to be a better person. The one you look to for everything whether it be advice about a boy or give some encouragement to get you through the day. The friend who came into your life and changed you for the better. In my life, that friend is you. We started talking when I found out we were going to be living together but our friendship really began during our freshman year on move-in day. I barely knew anything about you other than what we had texted over the summer and what I had read on your Facebook page. I had no idea what I was getting myself into with you. You could have been a slob or worse, you could have been crazy and I could have ended up with one of those roommate horror stories. I went into my first day at Kennesaw State with an open-mind, not knowing what was about to happen.
It’s been a little over two years since that day and I am proud to say that you, who I wasn’t sure about at first, have become one of best friends. Even though I don’t see you as much as I used to because we have different interests and are involved in different organizations, you are still there for me when I need you no matter what. I know that I could be crying on the phone and you would have many encouraging words for me. You have become such a blessing in my life and have helped me become the person I am today. If I had not met you, I would be a completely different person.
You are such an inspiration in my life and have been since the day I met you. You exemplify how to live a life like Jesus. I have had the pleasure of being able to watch you grow into the person you are today. You have become a different person from the girl I became friends with during my freshman year, but it is a good thing. You have taught me so many things and helped me learn so many life lessons, but the biggest impact you have made in my life is guiding me towards my faith.
During our freshman year, you lead a bible study that you invited me to. You also invited me to go to a campus ministry with you and we went to the Passion Conference together. Through all of these, you became such a prominent part of the beginning of my walk with Jesus. You taught me how to live with Christian values and how to value myself as His daughter. You not only became my best friend, but my sister in Christ. We would encourage each other with verses from the bible and that was our way to brighten up each other’s day.
When things go wrong or I am stressed about something in my life, you always remind me about how God has a plan for me and how everything is going to work out. This gives me so much encouragement and makes me feel better about life in general. You are so driven and have a life plan. I wish I knew God’s plan for my life like you do. You know that your plan is to go to Africa for ministry. I can tell that you have a passion for Christianity and loving Jesus. One day, you are going to do big things, make an impact in the world and I am going to be blessed to call you a best friend. I could never thank you enough for how much you have impacted my life.
Love always,
Kayla
