Dear Best Friend,
So I know you hate sappy stereotypical articles, but I am writing this anyway. I only force my sappiness upon you to show my appreciation for our friendship (and because I know secretly deep deep down you love it).
First off, I want to tell you how freaking awesome you are. You are not only an amazing friend, but you are also an awesome example of a woman of God. You are always chasing after him and trying to grow in your relationship with him, which I admire about you. You also have a servant’s heart and are never afraid to stand up for what you believe in (even if I was afraid it was going to get us jumped in Tropical Smoothie…but it’s all good…we didn’t LOL). You are the type of friend who makes me strive to be a better person. I admire you so much and I know God has amazing thing in store for you.
Secondly, thank you for always being there for me. From the nights where I was completely off my head because I had medical issues, to the nights where I felt like life sucked, you have always had my back. We also had some pretty amazing late night cookout runs because only cookout can fix things sometimes. Thank you for helping me decipher what God is trying to tell me, and telling me when I am being petty and need to get over myself. And let us not forget the late nights in the library where I was convinced we were going to get kicked out because of our delirious laughter from exhaustion. You have seriously been there for me on my worst days and on my best days. I can never thank you enough for that.
Thirdly, thank you for being my person. In the wise words of Meredith Grey, “If you need someone to tell you your beautiful, I’m your girl. If you need a shoulder to cry on, I have two. If you want to run, I’ll drive the get away car.” I feel like this quote describes our friendship quite well. I am so blessed to have a person who keeps me sane, has my back, and tells me how it is. Last year I would have never guessed I would gain a friendship like this, but God knew better.
So lastly, the future. So we have approximately one year left of University life with you living less than five minutes from me instead of 10 hours. But I know throughout this year we will make amazing memory and I know our friendship will not end after you graduate. Honestly I hope we are still friends many moons from now so you can be my maid of honor and keep me sane through my wedding, just as you have through undergrad (just a heads up for you ;)). I know God has fantastic plans for your life and I know you are going to change the world. You have an amazing heart of gold that is going to bless so many people (especially the freaking awesome man God has in store for you who will be very lucky to have you…just saying). I look forward to watching God continue to work in your life and watching you continue to grow into the woman god has destined you to be. I love you much and thank you for blessing my life everyday.
Much Love,
Faith
