A Letter For My Fellow Teenagers

A Letter For My Fellow Teenagers
Alicia Sansone

To my fellow teenagers,

My teenage years are almost over. By next year I will be in my twenties, but that doesn't mean I can't give everyone else advice. I know how hard it is to feel left out, different, weird, exc. I actually left school because of that. After leaving school I have found vital information I never knew. Here are three steps I think every teenager should follow.

Step 1: Listen To Your Parents

It's hard to let your mom or dad tell you when to be home, where you can go and can't, when you feel like you are an adult. Actual the truth is no matter how much you feel like it your not. Your mom and dad always know what is right for you!

Step 2: Do The Right Things

When peer pressure hits do not give in! It will get you in so much more danger than you were already in. Saying no may make others hate. If that is true, they never needed to be in your life. A true friend doesn't push you into things you don not want to do.

Step 3: Just Say No!

No matter what everyone needs to keep the word "NO" in the middle of teenage life. If it's peer pressure, or guys always remember everything you do is your choice. Bad Choices can be made easily. The right choice may be a tough path but worth the trouble!

Just try to remember these three steps. The way you decide to make the choice will make up who you are. I know it is easy to say yes but you mean so much more than what others may see. Every little and big thing you do in high school may just lead to the way you act the rest of your life. From as little as what you wear to saying no will make you the better or worse person.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
