Dear G-pa,

I can't thank you enough for everything you've done for me. You'll always and forever be my best friend. The impact you have left on me (and continue to leave on me) has done nothing but good. You taught me to have such a kind heart to all, and to never ever give up on what I want in life. You are the strongest man I know and continue to amaze me every single day. Although we may not be able to dig 5 ft holes in the sand and bury each other anymore, I still have the best time when I'm around you. You have done so much for me and everyone in our family and for that I'm forever grateful.

Dear Papa,

I will always be thankful for you. You were there for me when nobody else was and will always set me straight if I ever do something wrong. Helping my mom and the family through all the hard times we have has shown me how much love is in your heart. You showed me what hard work was and helped me become the young woman I am today. No matter what we went through or go through, I'm glad to know you will always be here right by my side through it all. I will always be your baby girl.

Dear Grandpa Larry,

You are quite the man! Every single time I see you there's always something new I learn. Whether it be the origin of a weird fruit on my birthday cake or about the new wood floors in your basement, it always seems to intrigue me. You and Grandma Ann gave me one of the biggest memories of my life this past summer, and I will forever be thankful for that. Thank you for accepting my young self into your life just a short 13 years ago. I'm so proud to call you my grandpa!

Dear Papaw,

It's been rough without you, but every day I manage to feel you here with me. Some days it's as simple as sitting down and drinking sweet tea. I can almost hear you drinking yours and asking me how I am. You comforted me so easily and always knew how to cheer me up. I miss our go-cart racing and dinner at Wendy's dates, and I miss your voice and smile. I miss everything about you. I know you knew this, and although I never got to tell you this, your kind words and contagious smile left a large impact on me. Thank you, Papaw. Keep flying high my angel. I'll see you soon.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Challah vs. Easter Bread: A Delicious Dilemma

Is there really such a difference in Challah bread or Easter Bread?

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
